Deep dive: Fun & Games in the Classroom: Part 2 -- Playing Games with a Purpose in Mind

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

For those who already use games in the classroom, or are wanting to begin, this session will give you the opportunity to brainstorm ideas for creating your own curriculum-driven game and then working collaboratively to design and create one. The presenter will present the pros and cons of various game types, then guide you and a team of colleagues to brainstorm, design, and build a game prototype based on one of a variety of game types. Suggestions and constructive critiques will be given along the way. The objective for this session is to design and create a game prototype you can use in (or further refine for) your lessons. The session may include an opportunities to play test and tweak your group's game. Please note that attending Part 1 is helpful, but not mandatory for attending this session. You may bring curriculum materials with you if desired to help you align curricular objectives with game objectives.
